Transforming the Mediterranean

After a fast two weeks in Carlisle getting settled, I hopped on a plane with part of the OMNIvision team heading to the Transform conference in Rome.

You may remember that Transform was my first OM experience in 2012 and God did some amazing things. So it has a special place in my heart.

People always ask me, “What’s Transform” and it’s never an easy question to answer. Transform is so many things! It’s a missions conference. It’s outreach into the city of Rome. It’s training workshops for how to share your faith in relatable ways. It’s also short-term outreaches into countries throughout the Mediterranean region, with focuses varying from skateboarding and surfing, to relief projects and kids clubs.

So for me the task of capturing the heart of Transform in a two-minute video felt impossible!

One night while in Rome I prayed about the video and God brought to mind words from the prophet Isaiah (61: 1-4) that Jesus quotes years later to launch His ministry.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because He anointed me to preach good news….”

I pitched the idea of using that passage to the Transform leaders and they loved it! So a couple days we went into Rome and filmed Transform participants from many different nations and languages speaking these words over famous landmarks throughout the city.

So excited to share this video with you soon. Keep an eye out for it!
